Notes About The Poem

A Ray of Sunshine

In the depths of January's blustery cold
The poet's life in poems slowly unfolds
A mood of blue is often set
Melancholy seems to be her usual cuddly soft pet

But sometimes the table is quickly turned
Out pours some humor that she learned
Maybe she's bipolar like it's called today
At least a ray of sunshine came her way

Through the gloom of darkness, a streak of light filters in. It is enough to make the surroundings brighter ! A beautiful poem, Sara !

"Maybe she's bipolar like it's called today" Funny how we want to label every person and quirk now. The 7779 cadence is so much fun to read, I am going to try it myself.

Alexis, We do need a little ray and sometimes a whole day's worth. Sunlight does have healing effects on the body and in winter it feels so good. Thanks for stopping by. Sara

Is it the cold blues! "Melancholy seems to be her usual cuddly soft pet " isn't it everybody poet's! So beautifully expressed in terms of the cold. "Out pours some humor that she learned" Delightful imagery! "Form and Rhyme scheme" from the first Haiku i figured you are a complete poet. Thanks - Marshall

Marshall, I think I lean towards melancholy because it is a personality trait that is inherited. Your presence at my page was uplifting. Sara

I miscount myself so often in my compositions that usually I have to do three counts to be sure. And those last minute -edits- get me so often. This is indeed a brilliant first outing in this new Lind30 poetry form. Thank you for gifting a wonderful new poem that hits the marks. God bless.
