In the sheltered shadows of dreams,
boundaries, and limitations are nonexistent.
As imagination liquefies the ebony of space,
sleeping spirits swim amongst the stars.
And immersed in a sea of quietude
silence suppresses sounds,
amplifying murmurs and muffled thoughts.
And your muse bleeds ink, leaving a trail
that dribbles down the face of time
and lands upon a black page;
somewhere within your subconscious mind.
Dodging distractions
and avoiding the perils of indifference,
feelings freed from reality
are allowed to roam.
And a plethora of poetic thoughts
morph into stanzas,
as letters stand shoulder to shoulder
in groupings of witty words;
culminating in an outpouring
of creativity and talent upon awakening;
gleaned from thoughts
tethered to a poet's heart and soul.
