My Place In the Sun
Its brilliant light marking it as hallowed,
a star crossed the sky, as wise men followed.
And it lured these three kings to a lone spot,
to behold what God, through Mary begot.
As its light shone, the world witnessed a change,
and the heart of Man began feeling strange.
Our Savior was born; Jesus is His name,
and His birth means nothing will stay the same.
As a boy, He saw blood wrongly taint God,
believing in God's love, found this odd.
God was hailed a warrior and called to kill,
Jesus knew the role; He was born to fill.
By His example, He taught us of love
and gave up His life, so we'd rise above.
But His role as martyr brought His heart grief,
and He prayed to God, asking for relief.
Jesus's sacrificial love gave Man hope,
the world's still wicked, yet now we can cope.
And praise is to God, for His only Son
died to secure me my place in the sun.
