A Petition

So here we go again my friends A bunch more time has passed Will the coming year be any closer To world peace than the last? I highly doubt it dearest ones That's not the way it works We think we're making progress But we have the same old quirks Perhaps if enough of you fine folks Step up and sign a petition I'll take it to our glorious leaders And explain to them our mission To see world peace within our time Where nations put down their arms For the common good of all mankind Not another human harmed You may call me a silly dreamer Been called that name before But if someone doesn't step up to the plate We'll just continue on with wars Probably don't have a chance in hell Of changing a blessed thing But at least let's make a real effort So the bells of freedom may ring © Jack Ellison 2013

Excellent, Jack! I'm reminded of an obscure quote... it went "I saw all the horrible news on the TV and I'm like, somebody should help those poor people, and then I realized... I'm SOMEBODY". It really hit me hard when I read it... change yourself, not the world. For it's YOU who makes up the world. I don't believe this goal will ever be met simply because (no matter what) we are still corruptible human beings. But we can change ourselves as much as possible in the meantime...

"I'm SOMEBODY" RIGHT ON! You continue to amaze me with your insight into what life is all about! There is still hope for us humans... I truly believe that!

Lovely write, my dear. Peace is illusive at best, especially where I live. You never know when the war in Syrian will spill over, or if we will have another bomb blast that will kill some politician. My brother and his wife were part of the wounded in the bomb blast that killed Prime Minister Harir in Lebanon a few years back. Thank God their lives were spared, but they are left with physical scars. Only the the coming of the Prince of Peace will bring lasting peace! He's coming soon!

Don't know if you can live through that constant threat! Must be terrifying! I guess your last lines explain how you are able to survive! Love and hugs, Jack xoxox

Dragon just flew off looking for those freedom bells... Think he wants to play with them... Dumb Dragon!... Don't worry... he'll be back by dinner time... Hope no one calls me to get him out of a church steeple... Naw... Most are now canned prerecorded stuff... Like to see him trying to figure that one out...LOL
