A Perfect Storm

Love’s tempestuous when everything
aligns, and so it was the day we met
on a sandy beach in the late spring -
a perfect storm I cannot forget!

I knew you’d been swimming in the sea
when you sauntered past me dripping wet.
Something wild your glances brewed in me -
a perfect storm I cannot forget!

Good fortune! The beach had emptied fast
when you approached me before sunset.
My heart - crashing waves! There came at last
a perfect storm I cannot forget!

Just we two, the beach, and twilight’s glow.
What passion was unleashed when I let
you kiss my lips! All those years ago -
a perfect storm I cannot forget.
