A Perfect Day

Nothing so delights as a mother and child Interacting together, oblivious to all around, Completely engrossed in each other’s charms Illustrating a special filial love so undefiled. One sees this grand relationship at a playground Accompanied by shrieks of glee and laughter Unlike any other human interaction, I hear, Sounds of pure joy, memories for long after. Children come racing into their mothers’ arms Sometimes with a skinned-up knee or a sprain And only mother can make everything okay, Afternoon at the park makes for a perfect day.

You got the essence of the relationship between mother and child right in this one, Milt.

This is why I visit parks "Sounds of pure joy, memories for long after." So I can hear these sounds.

Yes. Sometimes I will sit in the park writing poetry. I try to sit near the playground where I can watch parents with their kids having great fun. The sounds of laughter are delightful.

This is so true, Ann. Only mom can take care of the boo-boos.
