A Perfect Day
Nothing so delights as a mother and child
Interacting together, oblivious to all around,
Completely engrossed in each other’s charms
Illustrating a special filial love so undefiled.
One sees this grand relationship at a playground
Accompanied by shrieks of glee and laughter
Unlike any other human interaction, I hear,
Sounds of pure joy, memories for long after.
Children come racing into their mothers’ arms
Sometimes with a skinned-up knee or a sprain
And only mother can make everything okay,
Afternoon at the park makes for a perfect day.
