A Night of Deceit - Quatret

Rush of nerves, quivers come night,
blush of love parts evening clouds.
Green eyes aglow tempt in candlelight.
As stars dangle low in spangled shroud,
we rise high above, embraced in flight -
words a whisper, untruths vowed.

How at sunrise shall I wake
now knowing love cannot stay?
In throws of night’s heat, our two worlds quaked;
then weak with deceit, I slipped away.
Oh, if I’d known my heart was at stake,
I’d hide in shadows of day.

A serious, well written write on the ugliness of deceit, Rhonda. Congrats on your win!

Indeed, Rhonda. Though emotion surged to the fore, Deceit will eventually make the person who indulges in love behind untruth full of anguish in heart and mind. Congratulations! hugs

wow,, you did an amazing one with his form, rhonda. I am saving this one to work on out in the warm Kentucky sun. I hope to lay out this afternoon on the nice deck by the lake. Too bad we are without a boat to enjoy the lake behind Joe's parents' house!!
