A Mountain Journey
A thousand birds are singing in hidden places,
oh, how I envy their lofty tree top view;
sweet the songs that drift down the mountain spaces,
and listen, distant thunder echoes in a sky of blue !
Soon, I take a rest from my journey by a lake,
where colorful fish swim, so pretty;
and on a submerged rock slithers a green snake,
oh, such a mesmerizing underwater city !
The clear blue water is mirror smooth,
the sky, clouds and trees reflected;
this vision, my heart does soothe,
oh, wilderness must always be protected !
Rested, I walk a tangled vine draped path,
whistles, croaks and rustlings swirl;
delightful the sounds of nature on this footpath,
then and then- another mountain top lake for this girl !
