A Mothers Shine

cradle of the womb a mother pats, gives a name countenance changes a mother’s shine - God’s glory preparations made - a safe space she cups newborn’s head the smallest body a part of her soul for years either on her shoulder or next to her heart - a safe place on pillow, her head a mother in death’s cradle daughter feels her heart she smooths the reflection of the cross on her chest; mom rests the cycle of life a daughter must bear the grief did mom teach her how she kept her safe in the womb her mother’s presence brings peace 5/6/2022

Your poem brought back so many safe moments I felt in my mother's arms. She went to heaven 8 years ago, but still comforts me through my spirit. Smiles ~ Blessings, Bill
