A Measure Of Time

Found a feather today -- a pen of the great, soaring past, of creative thoughts yielding dips immortal...indelible on time were the hands of a Poe and Mozart for me, the world stopped after the Lights of Dickerson and Gershwin

Great poets of old used feathers as pen. The poets you have mentioned are still stalwarts who live in the hearts of many. You have been giving your quill some rest, I feel. Now it is time to come up with fresh poems. Have a great week ahead dear Joe...

Your poem brought me to thoughts of the old quill pens. They were dipped in ink and carefully held to the side of glass to drain excess ink. If they had too much ink, a big ink blot would occur. A very historical poem. Thank you for a peek at past times.

title is a lovely and creative play on words. Your words reminded me of excellence (with your reference to Poe, Mozard, Dickerson & Gershwin). I dislike mediocrity. Liked your poem

Something I struggle with, when reading the works of others including myself. So tempting to take the easy way out, write low hanging fruit, guaranteed a minimum of likes while avoiding more time consuming, soulfully relatable works. I know, poetry doesn't need be brain surgery -- it is only better when it is.

Named by his parents after the demon asmodeus i note is a spelling showing on the internet now i knew the spelling as for amadeus.' I'll give him the go bye' It may be an interchangeble name? I have re-checked 'asmodeus is The exact spelling' Joe I'm sure I found the name checking through things..I don't know if Its interchangable with Amadeus.? Yet I'm sure it has a Great similarity and in English, words often transpose each other, and complement each other'

Hi Joe. Thank you. Just some random thoughts that came into my head, perhaps my deep psyche railing against what I perceive as our day's super abundance of mediocrity. What you said about Mozart's name intrigued me. This is all I could find out: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mozart's_name --

Joe, your poem is a beautiful reflection on the timeless legacy of creativity. The imagery of the feather as a symbol of inspiration from past luminaries like Poe and Mozart is deeply evocative. Your words transport me, the reader, into a moment where the world stops, allowing for introspection on the enduring impact of artistic genius. This is a very profound piece. - Blessings, Daniel
