A Man With Cerebral Palsy

This wheelchair I can't stand to ride I’m not that naïve I’m just out to find The better part of me I’m more than a burden I’m more than a strain More than some smiling face Smiling at you so plain And it is not easy to be me Wish that I could cry Fall upon my knees Find a way to lie About a home I never see It may sound absurd But don’t be naïve Even with cerebral palsy I have the right to bleed I may be disturbed But once you can see Even with cerebral palsy I have a right to dream And it is not easy to be me Don’t run away from me Well it’s all right You can all sleep sound tonight I’m not crazy or anything I can stand to ride I’m not that naïve Men were not meant To ride with ground Between their knees I’m only a man Don’t be silly To perceive me a kid Taken for granted On ignorance’s One way street Only a man With a wife and three kids Looking for smashing things Inside of me I’m only a man With cerebral palsy I’m only a man Looking for a dream I’m only a man Being honest on this sheet And it is not easy to be me…

Ah! I am in a wheelchair too, for different reasons. Yep, I agree with you. The times people would love to pet my curls instead of SEEING me. But, we can write, ohhh yes we can, and there's nothing wrong with the intelligence in here.
