A Lovers Plunge

She knew what kind of a girl went all the way on her first date. After all, she’d just met him earlier that afternoon. But there was just something about his face that made her feel safe. They arrived at Lover’s Lane just as night was taking over the wood-lined footpath. He opened the door for her and wrapped a blanket around her shoulders. He held her close, and she felt the warmth of his body pressed against her. Her heart pounded heavily in anticipation. An hour later, he drove off to another town looking for his next victim. Wolves in sheep’s clothing they will promise you the moon then rip out your heart

Your haibun is a haunting portrayal of the dangers lurking beneath the surface of seemingly innocent encounters. The juxtaposition of intimacy and deception, warmth and betrayal, creates a sense of unease and foreboding that lingers long after the words have faded... you expressed this really well..

Tragic reality most of the time. Good Haibun, my friend. My thoughts, if they won't take their time to get to know you, don't give them the time of day. That's what I told my kids. All three graduated from college then got married to some they'd been dating for 4 or 5 years. All still married and I have 7 grandkids I've told the same thing too. There's a big difference between lust and Love. Preaching again. LOL Have a great weekend! Bill

Same thing goes for people who troll Social Media looking for easy prey. We must always look before we leap.
