A Love Song
A LOVE SONG
Oh Father God!
I humbly kneel,
On bended knee today
Before your throne of grace,
I sing this love song
To you oh my almighty LORD!
Oh Father God!
You picked me up
When I was down,
Unconditional
Is your love for me?
And that was what I needed most.
Oh Father God!
You gave me strength
To carry on,
When the only thing
I’d felt before,
Was weakness in my soul?
And heart?
Oh Father God!
You gave me understanding,
At a time when all I felt,
Was bitterness, hatred,
And beset by an unforgiving heart,
Yet your love shone through for me
With compassion,
And a direction true.
Oh Father God,
You have into my spirit given,
Replaced the down with up,
Weaknesses with strength of character,
A sorrowful soul with joy behold,
Confusion with clarity of mind,
Hatred with an agape love,
And instead of bitterness
Now a heart full of joy.
Oh Father God!
Before THEE I kneel,
On this centre stage of life
As I raise my voice and sing
This love song to you my LORD,
For all the hope
And all the freedom
You have given me
That on thermals high
I can soar and fly,
Like an eagle free,
For you My GOD!
