A LOUSY HOTEL Son went to his hotel room after a delicious lunch When he opened the door there was a loud crunch There were huge cockroaches crawling over the floor He grabbed his bags and ran straight out of the door This cockroach infestation was his objection He headed downstairs to the hotel reception and obtained a keycard to a different room It would be cockroach free (he did assume) Alas, cockroaches were rampant in room #3 All the rooms were dirty it was clear to see He changed hotels for an exorbitant fee But the new hotel it was cockroach free! Based on my son’s recent experience in Taiwan... he was actually shown 4 rooms but sadly each was infested so he got a refund and got a new hotel at very short notice - it cost him a fortune £100.. but it was clean! 10/6/18

G'day Jan … I wonder if they were putting the same cockroaches in every room and then sharing the extra 100 quid. Arthur Daley wasn't the manager was he - thanks Jan - Lindsay

Quite a romp of a write --- for everyone but your son. Gotta feel for his plight! … And how about that title, Jan?! -- Perfect!! Best always, Gershon

I couldn't resist the title GW I think its often as important as the actual body of the poem:-) hugs Jan xx

Good write Jan, very well penned indeed. Not something one would want to go through, but at least your son got a new hotel. Blessings,Gordon

Government must encourage people to eat insects! There is a plethora of cockroaches, flies, ants, mosquitoes, etc. which proliferate simply because we don't eat them. Your son could have saved £100 and more by feasting on all those cockroaches filled with protein! Let the banquet begin! Aloha! Rico

Jan, well written, oh that is so creepy, all those bugs crawling around. I had a similar experience in a cheap Florida motel one time. It was cockroach season apparently, they were crawling everywhere on trees, on the ground and of course in the rooms and people seemed to think nothing of it ~
