A Look Back

A Look Back Fleeting the moments of laughter and joy, Love promises so much more: There is no finality in the life garnered Once we see the dread of its end. So short were the days in the sun: Where shining dawns offered deep hope All we once were has now been done We live and loved in a dream. Robert J. Lindley. 06-30-2015

Hello Robert, The dread of its end does come for sure, but it's ultimately a question of what each of us do in the meantime. Perhaps all of us do actually live and exist in an actual dream. Your short free verse write here does indeed skirt on at least 3-4 major philosophical issues that are way beyond the standard fare for most Poetry Soupers. I see them very clearly, but I'm not everyone else by training, background, and worldwide experience. Outstanding Write+ FAV!! Best Wishes, Gary

Robert My Friend, I understand completely. Don't change a thing on any of your deeper writes or any other planned writes for the future. Always write by your mind, heart and muse!! Like you, I'm a multi-leveled type of writer. Many of the writers at PS are at different stages of learning and development. I'm someone who revels in and savors challenges and complexity. Otherwise, where would be without poets who challenge us to think like Pound, Auden, Eliot, Poe, Neruda, Goethe, Heine, and so on. Deep, contemplative poetry is both wonderful and necessary. Best Wishes, Gary

Thanks my friend. I am very glad at least somebody caught that... I write love poems but I write deeper poetry as well. Seems many of my deeper writes are not very well understood. Perhaps tis my fault for not simplifying enough but I write as my muse demands.
