A Long Journey Made Short

Little Innocence was forged into the world
A shrill Sound flickered around the expecting eyes
Laughter carved out of marble
A statue thought to beat immortality
Yet Fear had a surprise
It crept into the cradle with ease
Laughter was choked
Tears burst instead
And Sadness had a form
Evil found in youth a red soil
Jealousy marched with Envy
Lust befriended Desire
Until cupid threw a bunch of arrows
Adventure appeared
Excitement beyond description
A Thrill with no past
Sentiments were aroused
Pride threw some words
Ego played its part
And when Love meddled to defend its territory
The Heart bled in utter silence!

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Meanwhile, I greet you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.

The story of Life and all its implications? Truly existential and profound. Great metaphors to tell a great story. Read it three times.

Allan Koven,, The story of life is in itself a mystical enigma with all of its implications, symbolism, and ultramundane issues... I hope i have covered some of its endless aspects!! Your comment made me truly happy. Thank you!!

Such impact on this piece. Sadly, ego normally does play a part in the grand scheme of things. But, ego is just distorted pride....cured by silence. This was intense.

Drake, I totally agree with you.. ego seems to have its own presence in everything... and he who shall abide by it is definitely going to suffer... at least from loneliness.. Loved your comment a lot... it reflects a deep person! Thank you!
