A Long - Expected Vacation
The troubles we face
are rising like the sea itself
The waters
are rising up around us
Time for us
to take a vacation
An inner vacation
prompted by reading
the famed
tale of the One Ring
We shall leave these shores
Travel to lands full of
mystery and wonder
A respite
from clocks, cars and clutter
We'll fly on gossamer wings
to new and unknown sites
O! to see the elves
as they head westward
to watch as dwarves work
their magic in stone
to speak with wise wizards
and enjoy the Shire in autumn
full from a rich harvest
and honeycombs dripping
with the sweetest honey
Yes, we'll take a long - expected vacation
Our real lives
lie somewhere near Middle Earth
Waiting to be discovered
