A Lonely Moon
A lonely crescent moon
shines shyly from above
and brings me dreams of love
as distant crickets croon
their soulful summer tune;
‘tis her I’m thinking of.
She wanders ‘cross the sky
in flowing moonbeam gown
alone while looking down
from heavens way up high.
Yet still I wonder why
you never see her frown
for lonely as she seems
her tender beauty beams.
