A Little Jewelry Box

As a very young child, the little jewelry box was just for me. My loving aunt had a box filled with her love, beautifully gift wrapped and mailed to me. All year I waited for her loving box, I always opened it with a surprise. I always knew what was inside, a new five dollar bill was waiting for me. This little jewelry box filled-wrapped with her love, meant more to me than the whole world. She lived so very far away, I did not see her very often. With each little jewelry box, I just knew she was here next to me. The many miles just disappeared, her love I could hold dear. She is now in heaven where she belongs, I will never forget her little jewelry box from each year. Jewelry gives us a special connection to other women in our families, Paula. My nieces are always pleased when I send pieces to them. I can tell the jewelry boxes your aunt sent to you were very special. They will always remind you of the love she gave you. Beautiful, Paula! Hugs, Carolyn

Wow you had a very decent or rich aunt, I vaguely remember my holy communion, made about 30 bob, about $2 in your currency, spent it on cigarettes and more cigarettes, at 7 years of age, such was life back then everyone smoked, enjoyed this Paula, sorry for rambling, cheers David

Thank You, for writing. My aunt/uncle were not rich just full of love. I made that $5.00 go a long way when I was buying things. Back then a 5 went many places not like now. I always remember that box and it was always a 5, even when I was grown. Guess I am the one rambling on. It was good to hear from you. Have a blessed day writing away...................
