A Letter To Mr May

Dear Mr. May: On Monday, in Northern California, it was 89; On the 2nd, it was 91. Today is the 3rd, and so far at 2:45 PM, it's already 91 degrees. A cool down of 82 is the forecast for Thursday. Thanks for the relief of the heat, but why so little forecast of rain? Kind sir, please don't think I'm complaining; I'm just wondering about the raining. Please pardon me if it sounds like I'm ungrateful. The rainy season has served us swell, and I am indeed very thankful. The pain of the drought is gone, and we have gained a lot of rain. There's no doubt that the fall harvest will overflow with waves of grain. The birds and bees, flowers and trees, are just wonderful. The snow packs are great, and the reservoirs are more than full. I anticipated your coming, but not with an entry of high heat. It is still Spring, and Summer will do well without your assist. By the end of the day, my early vegetables were pleading with me. Mr. May, I wanted to be among the first to speak to you about your showers. It's a must, kind sir, because it's really tough to be greeted each day with a 90 plus. There is moisture deep down below; but we need the showers to muddy the dust. 05032017cjPS; Contest, May Showers, by Nayda Negron
