~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A raw dark, persuaded by rusty leaves
who break through the hushed prayers,
vibrant hopes and dreams,
stirring light that lives beneath the heavens,
confiding joy, revealing wonders, confessing
swaying branches, havens
for hurried squirrels and clever wrens,
cardinals in scarlet cloaks, astute robins
and gentle desires, who fade – weakened
by the glistening gatherings of bees,
striving to see through their honeyed sweet…
lingering on souls, unburdened, believing
stirred to praise the One they’re always seeking,
His love the only guide, the only need, the only reason,
purpose found in the leading, lessons in breathing
hope’s drenching light, falling and pleading
blessing away the dark, the doubt, the demons…
restoring the holiness in autumn’s dance, her trembling
whispers of joy in the boldest touch – softest amber,
tangerine, burgundy, flavors of rustic memories,
folded into shadows, haunting the whimsical
feelings flow, soundless
like the bleeding prose, the promises, the poetry
in laughing sienna, graceful gold,
gentle intimacies, alive and sensitive,
fulfilling the heart’s dreams,
soaring like the quiet serenity…
fading into the wintery blurring, raging starlight silence
erasing the melancholic of a quiet
who flees the haunting breath of a dewy mourning,
stirred by winds who dare to flow
unbridled by the stories of old,
sanctified by the blazing fires of a soul
who knows the One who reminds me
through every autumn harvest,
amid the stirring of leaves, piled in mounds,
awaiting the moment when we will see
beyond the silence into the cool nights,
star studded thoughts, hesitating, bleeding
awakened by the beautiful wonder of a fresh
fallen snow, soothing away the darkness,
penetrating the imagination,
with a semblance of God’s hesitation
to finally invite the hibernation of a soul
whose wintery hush pours out a music,
rhythm of hope, wishes, wistful kisses
from the heart who finds solace in the melody of wintery
feelings, winter’s resilience
brought to the soul who can see through the cold winds
an invitation to sink into the faded light
still as the first snowflake, and inspiring blessings
meant for those who hear His song,
even in the winter, throughout – all along
playing on the verge of a tear, yet – shuddering with a joy that only appears
when the love that is more alive, because in faith…
He remembers me and I must praise… praise Him for the gentle ache
that kindles my thoughts, my yearnings, my prayers
forever praising the love so amazing – it stills the feelings,
stirs the spirit’s season…
eternally, He is the reason
I know that, with each faded thought, I have fresh hope,
a second chance, renewed and revived
by this love that is so alive…
He is alive inside… He is alive, forever alive, always alive!
without Him – His love, His light…
I will not survive the fine lines, the flight
through this life, on my way to heaven
where I’ll live with Him forever!.... forever A L I V E
