Notes About The Poem

Célestin Boutin, French dancer

A Knight, Chained

This subtle dance in smallest tendons And tiniest of contractions, In littlest of words. Minor C, disclosed in me in tapping of ten digits on my sheets. When they dance in, and straighten, Lift me so high, I smile... Upright posture. Ink flows in, -in colours inimitable by any wild palette- and out again. Arabesque in a lazy Arabian Night by a knight chained and beaten, battu. Let my hands play F and C Let their hands help, Legs changé. In inmost words that find their final place, ultimately. *** March 3, 2017 © Darren White

I've been reading some of your poetry and I really like it as well, you have nice vocabulary and a way to make them rhyme without making them rhyme. Very nice writings!

Thank you, this is written with a choreography in mind, so it might be very well possible it looks like it rhymes while it doesn't (I also like Blank Verse writing for the very same reason) :)

Darren what a gift you give your readers when they enter your page and entries. The reader sees and feels beauty and grace. The reader feels and reads emotion. And yes, my words apply to this entry alone along with your others. I could never take such an entry apart for it stands whole. Once again I say read back your words and you will see. Well done

I understand what you are saying Lisa. And yes, this entry is part of a series, that you can follow throughout all the pages with my poems. It doesn't stand alone :) Thank you so much for you ever so wonderful comments.

There was a time where I aspired to become a professional dancer... So yes, once I danced, but life got in the way :) Thank you Anne-Lise.
