A Heavy Load Cannot Roll

Hovering over the distant light that shrouds one’s gain
become a western wagon wheel with a broken rim
Its going nowhere fast and doomed to fall into a rut
a rut that will continue to absorb one’s prosperity.
more horses are needed to pull the wobbly load
its best to heave the excess cargo and take light of the way.
living in the past stalls the freshness of potentiality
empty the burden wagon of yesterday and be aware
of the time spent dwelling in the past when you could
have constructed a wheel that will carry you forward.
