A young, enchanting Lilly stands tall and oh so very proud,
Others waiting in line to bloom, they silently vowed,
Eager roses showing off their virgin white beauty,
Vain, trying to steal the show, maybe feeling a little guilty,
Bougainvillea, vivaciously display a color of vibrant indigo,
They lean forward as I approach whispering, watch me grow.

Jennifer, ahhh the flowers are so beautiful in their own way, yet looking for our attention in this poem. Really cute to personify them that way! It almost feels like being on a bit of a trip in that they are needy and looking approval as if part of our family. It makes it enjoyable to think that they are speaking to us. I'll have to try thinking about flowers this way in the spring and summer....so I'll have to wait about 5 months being in the Northern half...unless I take a special trip to an indoor botanical garden. Have a wonderful 2025!! Smiles!

Hi Jenny, this is indeed lovely. The threesome vying with each other to steal the show is a sight so pleasing to the eye. I have all these three in my garden too. I love flowers and gardening is a great hobby for me. This beautifully rhyming little poem goes into my FAVE.

Dear Jennifer, I loved reading your poem, and when I saw the title, I was like, "What?" but I read the poem and was much relieved. LOL! I love flowers and your poem describes the scene of beauty with human qualities. Autumn Blessings, MY Dear Friend, Daniel

Darling poem! Love that you provided a pic to highlight. Though not the more colorful, the lovely lily stands out. Abundant blessings!
