A Greener Pasture

Though my stall here is empty now
If you listen close...
You can hear me running through a greener pasture
Your sorrow opens the gate and releases me free
Thank you for rescuing me from worldly darkness
And giving me love unsurpassed
So that I may now run with others so loved...
But never forgotten
I am a child again young and lean my spirit afire
And oh how our spirits thrive here
Never again to feel the pain of the earth
Hear me running!
For your tears have watered the grasses for me
In God's Greener Pasture

...thought it long overdue to visit your first poem and I see it is the beginning of your amazing animal writes that brings me to tears ...the good kind, Chris:) I adore the way you wrote this...you are truly 'one' with her...your spirit shines with love, both given and received. That she forever runs free is stunning imagery and the title so serene. The 'empty stall' began the watery eyes:) Exquisite writing from a beautiful heart:) a joy to read. fave, 7+ lynnxxx

A beautiful read, Chris,, Welcome to Poetry soup, I hope you enjoy the community. Here, you will find friendly poets who enjoy supporting one another. I myself, enjoy reading and commenting those who want to be read. The only time I give constructive criticism is when a poet desires it. However, if for some reason the poem is not my field I will guide you to someone who is more qualified than I. Stop by and read one of my poems if you like. My poems are not perfect, but I have a feeling you might like one. I encourage you to check out the contest page and read to receive comments. Tell me a little about your poetic skills if you like. It will be my pleasure to follow and read every poem you post from here on :) We are Lucky To Have you. Your New Poet Friend @-> LINDA <-@

Thanx so much for the welcome and kind words. I am a songwriter too so my poetry skills are best but not limited to rhyme. I seem to write what inspires me or disturbs me. Been writing for years and it's time to get out there I guess, so thanx for your encouragement...so sweet
