A gilded leaf on the move Now trapped like a deer In headlights, pushed Against a chain-link fence By a whistling Autumn wind Its trembling in distress Struggling to slip through Continually flapping on The fence, as if calling attention To other leaves Roaming free, slipping past... "Hey! Over here! Help me!" Or perhaps gesturing at me... Come! Come! Pry me free! Edward, I like your personification of the leaf and admire the "movement" in your poem using a special layout. Congratulations on your placement in Brian's contest! Best wishes, Carolyn

Deeper than you might think. Our lives, with humility, needing help. Really enjoyable.
