A gilded leaf on the move
Now trapped like a deer
In headlights, pushed
Against a chain-link fence
By a whistling Autumn wind
Its trembling in distress
Struggling to slip through
Continually flapping on
The fence, as if calling attention
To other leaves
Roaming free, slipping past...
"Hey! Over here! Help me!"
Or perhaps gesturing at me...
Come! Come! Pry me free!
