A Gentle Violence I
Is this the price we pay for our right to have guns
the blood of innocent souls lost to oblivion: a gentle violence
Forever a mental brute, a slow gentle violence
of unforgivable action, wither insane
or not something must be done, a gentle violence
Don’t hide the crime by calling something it’s not.
The triggers can be pulled by the sain, as well
as the mad! It’s all given praise as sales skyrocket, the
National Rape of America (NRA) is of greed, a gentle violence!
A gentle violence its blunted meaning in the static of this world.
We are numb by movies, a soft gentle violence!
We digest video games and the nightly news
at 6 o’clock at 11 stay tuned, soft is the violence gentle
is the sounds of crying, the tears of families, the seas of the dead…
We are numb by meds, chemicals, and drugs, and exhausted by media violence. Overworked and underpaid… Stories of wars rumors of wars history of domestic violence softly is the silence…
We are used to this gentle violence!
These little deaths numb the mind and soul!
We watch it from our armchairs, we watch it from our tablets, we watch from the Internet the podcast the evening news streaming… a gentle violence!
Is this the price we pay for the protocol of freedoms protecting our borders yet we can’t protect our sons and daughters? The wall to divide a people is more important than your child’s life, husband, wife, son, or daughter? You have sworn to protect… a gentle violence!
These are lenses through which our culture is dissected….with god guns n violence, gently bleeding on the ground from our sons and daughters!
Prices we pay for arrogance, pride, we love this phallic weapon, the price for our own National Suicide, man is a lost little thing feeling inadequate limp as soft meat, disgrace!
Without his weapon hard, erect, and menacing
is impotent and worthless let's cut to the chase!
The blood of innocent souls are on the hands of those who do nothing.
The spineless police, politicians, parents, schools, media…
Those who stand back trigger others point fingers at some and blame something, anything other than is needed to be done, why do we have to live in fear of ones who worship guns…
Not caring to do what is right only to serve the holy dollar…
this is a gentle violence.
This is an unforgivable action by man and machines come
to say hey murder is ok? Oh god! …a gentle violence.
Don’t hide the crime by what is not
Scream it out loud,
call it what it is:
Murder, a national suicide…
A gentle violence…
We are a nation bleeding to death by her own hypocrisy!
A gentle violence is what you see as you turn
your back as easily as you turn on
the TV, stream or listen to what has
been done in cold blood!
No one seems to care only going
to point fingers at our hypocrisy,
watching the children die;
friends,
family,
black,
white,
minorities,
the unseen!
This is the price we pay
this is the gentle violence
the silence of a nation held in fear,
apathy or hypocrisy…
a gentle violence
