A Frivolously Frolicsome Foursome

Grandfather was up to the task As everyone took off their mask Shouted “it’s no disgrace” To show all of your face And offer a toast from your flask. And the Naysayers said “this can’t be” I’ve had the shots – one, two and three I think it’s a trick As I still got sick I should have known that nothing is free. And the dogs who thought people so sweet Are now huddled below and beneath The sofa and chair Shaking with fear For they just found out people have teeth. We’ve removed the masks from our face Now we’ll carry them just like our mace In a pocket of fear As people draw near Well…because….you know, ….just in case. John G. Lawless ©3/1/2022

This gem is seeped in truth John! We may heal physically but it is going to take a long time to heal the emotional virus we suffer from. Thank you for this sharing your wisdom in the form of limericks!
