A Friend I'D Like To Meet
A Friend I’d Like to Meet
By Dane Smith-Johnsen
I have a friend I’d like to meet.
She is a pearl, a real live treat.
The words she writes are very sweet.
I feel her love with each heartbeat.
To see her face would be so neat.
She sits not on a lofty seat.
She lives not on the Isle of Crete.
Nor does she loving friends delete.
The coastal waters cool her heat.
And where she lives, there is no sleet.
A gentle breeze makes life complete.
So, each day’s glow she does repeat.
You’ll never hear harsh words that bleat.
And nock a stranger off his feet.
With kindness she does ill defeat.
She walks upon God’s narrow street.
These words I send to my friend’s feet.
Where goodness never knows retreat.
God bless your heart so strong and sweet.
Please don’t give up; we two shall meet.
Sorry, Carolyn. I missed your message. God bless you.
