A Fine Morning

This morning is a fine morning
The kind that stands out among others
The damp, cold perfection
That's so gloomy that you're comfortable..

A morning that you truly Wake up
Rather than forcibly Getting up
You have an extra hour or so
That you never have to prepare..

The unusual energy you have this morning
Inspires some strangely rare breakfast
Not too horribly worried about time
You're just glad to eat peacefully..

The sky is still dark with night's shadow
But perfect light blues begin to break through
Nothing satisfies my senses more
Than that cold, almost bright sky..

Your teeth don't feel contaminated this morning
Things just feel like they're going your way
Though you could easily go back to sleep,
Why miss this cold, city morning?

You look out the window with your coffee
Staring down at the world below
Gloomy polluted city somehow feeling like home
Time to go get dressed

It's hard to describe in words
What feeling this kind of morning brings me
Something about that fresh darkness takes me away
The confusing mixture of fatigue and peace..

Those mornings are what I live for
I haven't had a morning like that in a long time..
