A Fierce Thunder Storm

In the early evening The sky had darkened A roar of thunder heard From the darkened sky The wind was powerful Rain drops poured slanted Quickly, hitting the dry ground The wind grew stronger Forcing the rain drops To fall faster on the windows The wind got very strong A powerful thud was heard Something fell to the floor She went to see what happened It was a wooden clock from the wall It fell on the floor in pieces Another thud was heard A tiny object fell to the floor It landed in one piece She was very surprised So she sat in the chair She thought this is a freaky storm

Darlene, I came on your page to see how you were doing, you've been so kind to me. Scrolled to this poem, ostensibly your best and I got stopped at the title. Then I looked at all the comments, must be a couple dozen or so. You should be proud. Well, there's a typo in the title, big as life! Ferice is spelled Fierce. You'd think someone would have said so. Before me. Friends pick up friends. It was the least I could do for you. Keep up with it, this poem shows promise. Be well. And thanks again.

Life is very surprising indeed. I am always amazed as somethings act one way, and some another? Most often making no sense to me at all. Loved your poem. Hugs. Ann

Hello Ann,it amazes me that a thunder storm with high winds can be powerful all through the evening. I love the sound of the wind. it makes me feel like I am by the water, listening to the waves come to shore. Hugs Darlene

Quite an unnerving thunderstorm you have penned. I'd have had a cow if I lost a clock to just a thunderstorm.

Her calm meditation about the freaky storm. A powerful wind, slanted rain, large things (time) breaking, small things whole.

I like this. I thought of small things that are usually overlooked and it takes thunderstorm for them to happen. Like keeping a family home together. My loose interpretation.

It sounds like it might be safer outdoors. You never know when a clock might land on one’s head.
