A Faithful Companion-W

A time when women dressed as queens And the queens used to ride like warriors Men fought to live and lived to fight And never went gently into that night. To ride a *Marwari horse is to know the **Rajputs To view a pair of perfectly curved ears To see the twilight world of*** Rajasthan To create frenzy of festivals a thousand and one. To see Rajasthan, a gateway to the heart of India’s spiritual and ceremonial heritage . Even in heaven horses are respected. An old man and his horse came to a gate. Man at the gate said, “Welcome to heaven but animals are not allowed, Sorry!” The old man ready to spend eternity outside. as horse has been a faithful companion. They came to a run down fence with no gate A man invited, offering all the comforts of life Smiling a big smile said, “Welcome to heaven” The old man asked, "Is this heaven?" The gate where you inquired is devil’s hell He allows people ready to give up companion. Thank you for the info, Dr. As a result, I read up on these horses and their history in India, very elegant and proud history and a beautiful animal indeed. I do also like your first verse and still love it when women dress as queens instead of subjects.. and objects. Thank you for sharing this. Robert

Congrats Dr. Ram, awesome! I am familiar with the Marwri. Quite beautiful animals, I love how their ears join att he top a lot like certain breeds of Arabians.

I entered an old poem written months ago "The Stallion" for another contest that did not get off the ground here at Soup but kept the poem anyway...now it was entered in the HORSES contest... good luck my friend.. with luv.. happy weekend....

Beautiful writing of India. I had a good friend once that was from Punjab. He would always talk about rice fields. I once ate something he cooked, it was chicken with cayenne pepper, I forgot the name of the dish, it was really good though. Anyway I always love to hear about India. It reminds me of my friend. He prayed a lot, like in the middle of the day.
