A Dumb Mistake

I put sunscreen on arms, legs and face, Walked the beach at a leisurely pace – But the tops of my feet Are now red as a beet For I didn’t wear shoes in that place!

Funny limerick, Agnes - a mistake which many of us make (for me, it's normally the back of my neck)!! Regards, John.

In regards to our conversation below, keep using that sunscreen. I really regret I did not use it more than I did!

I will. Usually I am pretty good about it... just didn't think about feet because I do not live near the sea and rarely walk barefoot.

Too bad you had not been inside the water!! Now that I am over 60, I have decided to stay out of the sun. It's no big loss. I never got super tan anyway, and the years of laying out have done a number on me (I'm now doing face aerobics. hahaha. FOR REAL) My goal is to turn back time at least ten years. I loved your limerick. Kind of got rambling there!!!

I was in the water part of the time - but I walked 8 miles and spent 5 hours outside, 3 of those barefoot. I do not seek out the sun for sun's sake and don't lie tanning on the beach, but I enjoy outdoor activities and get sun exposure while hiking and rock climbing. No way I'll gve those up!

Thanks, Heidi. I wore hiking shoes the next day; it still hurts, but can't let it ruin the fun.

Hopefully you'll end up tanning evenly. I always end up with white places. Like a candy cane.

I don't care at all about tanning. I went to the beach to walk, not bake :) I usually tan from my outdoor activities, but that's only arms and face.
