A Dog Named Transfer

He was living in a shelter when he came to be my own The answer to my question, why be all alone The eyes, the eyes so big and brown to melt a frozen heart the kisses of a forlorn soul to speak of a new start His golden coat, so soft and sweet the wag of his delight Companion to my every need each day and every night He’s been so many places but no one saw his worth Abandoned by a careless man so soon after his birth They called him Transfer as he’d never known forever home Until now, that is, you see no more will Transfer roam

Such a beautiful heartfelt poem Mike. I'm always happy when I read of our animal friends who are rescued and given a loving home. It breaks my heart when I see the commercials and sad eyes of dogs and cats in pounds waiting for a home. I often wish I could take them all. Cheers Anne :-)

Your bond with your much loved dog is returned in kind, you can see it in his/her eyes, enjoy and love one another Mike. I have had four dogs who have all lived to a good age, but there is a favorite every time and my darling beautiful brown Labrador Coco, died of Leukemia at 3 years old. She broke my heart. I lost a a loving dog at barely 7 and was heartbroken for so long! Only a new love could fill the emptiness!! So sorry for your loss as well!!

So true is the saying, a dog is a man's best friend, they are so loyal and loving. Hope you have many happy years together Mike. I still miss our two, sadly they had to be put down. Tom
