A Difficult Year

My mind wears a secret alleyway, where thoughts lead to a threshold turning my dreams into memories; I tuck them away for safekeeping. Clandestine voices sow seeds of reveries that sweep into silent stars at dusk. Concealed and wrapped up in coarse fabric, thoughts fade in the distance (sky too far to grasp). Invalid questions crowd the furthest road in my mind. It travels downhill and swerves into a river of confusion, then... leads me back home. For it has been a difficult year, one that shadowed the dark backstreets of my mind. I lay in fear; he wipes my tear. Peace in my mind’s alleyway I hope to find. a year that crowded rugged backstreets of my mind- time to drive away
