A Deepening Frustration

He stood there on his balcony And looked like Mussolini, But ripped his mask off, like the chains Encompassing Houdini. The message that he thought he’d sent Was “Look at me – I’m healthy!” (As well as being powerful And popular and wealthy.) Yet that’s not how he was perceived By viewers ‘cross the nation Who watched in shock and horror And a deepening frustration. We’re fiddling with reality And we are scared and shaken, Stuck deep inside a nightmare From which we cannot awaken.

219,000 could not afford the $100,000 treatment one received. Was this act a little “rubbing it in” then? Could be.

The only thing I can compare it to is when Michael Jackson dipped his baby over the balcony in front of the press, totally oblivious to the public perception that would result.

You got that dead right! That absurd little man strutting over 210,000 fatalities, pretending he is Il Duce! Yet people still can't see the danger of allowing someone with the virus to waltz around sans mask! Aloha! Rico

He is an imbecile and a walking disaster area - others are bound to follow suit from 'superman trump' who has shown total disregard for those around him and more and more lives will be put at risk, very well penned Ilene:-) hugs Jan xx

I sat in disbelief as he paraded in a car to be seen. I sat shocked as he removed his mask with a defiant look on his mug...a move of defiance. "Don't be afraid," he said. Tell that to the loved ones of the 210k people who've died. Those who didn't have a herd of doctors and meds that were not available to them. His arrogance is only superseded by his immorality and repeated lies. I'm supportive of your writes about the one who sits in the seat of a president, Ilene.
