A Dark Point in Time - Poem 1020
At some point our paths crossed,
Valentine’s Day 2020 at a stupid party
all sanity was tossed.
At one point you charmed me,
Your boyish humour and warm eyes,
Made me dive into insecurity and naivety.
At some point I thought you were nice,
But good boys don’t meet you after 10
And neither are they colder than ice.
At one point you said I was too haunted,
That someone trying too hard
Was the last thing you wanted.
At some point I found a different guy,
And that’s when you realised
You were too rash to say goodbye.
At one point you crept in like a snake,
Said that I was way too memorable
And moved me like an earthquake
At some point you ignored my NO
Forced yourself and laughed,
Like adults in a freak show.
At one point I hated you,
Hated your ignorance and denial,
About what you put me through.
At some point I forgot you existed,
It took months of therapy,
But I finally felt free and lifted.
