Monchielle Stanza
Comprised of four stanzas (verses) of 6 syllable lines, with the rhyme pattern of
xxAxA xxBxB xxCxC xxDxD , and the first line in stanza one, is repeated
in each stanza as line one.
Today is a dank day
that hosts a sullen sun,
cloudy and overcast
shadows start shaking as
breezes blow hard and fast.
Today is a dank day,
yet dribbling drops of rain
water a thirsty earth,
nurturing Nature and
hastening Spring's rebirth.
Today is a dank day
that turns white into green
dabbing it on the trees,
soon, snowdrops start sprouting
as soil starts to unfreeze.
Today is a dank day,
April's prelude to May,
and yet, a sign of Spring
who'll soon be on Her way
to teach songbirds to sing.
