Notes About The Poem

The civil war continues for American racists, but now the battle for supremacy affects the entire world order. Where is the supreme king going...

a cosmic exercise in futility

The king loves his creatures quite white
Colored beings make him uptight
From those he’ll secede
Though that won’t succeed
Since leaving this Earth’s not too bright

This is sarcastic but it has a point! Thanks for your many comments on my poetry, my friend. :)

Duke, what a fantastic limerick! It deals with topics of exclusion, intolerance, and the repercussions of wanting to avoid reality. The "monarch" represents authority or power, whilst the "colored creatures" represent variety or the disadvantaged. The poem implies that attempting to withdraw from inclusion or truth is fruitless. The theme appears to center on the king's unease with variety, mirroring social issues like as racism and the challenges involved with acceptance and belonging. I truly like your word Choice; it's clear yet has a strong undertone of criticism. The words "creatures" and "hued beings" convey a feeling of otherness and hierarchy, stressing the king's preference for the "very white." The term "uptight" adds a colloquial touch, emphasizing stiffness and discomfort.

Arthur, I take that as a supreme compliment. I've been reading your work and I see great value in what you are saying. Take care. The muzzling of dissent against Israel on universities here in the US is quite distressing. Our free speech here is under significant threat.

Got me again. So, what's it like inside your head that you can come up with these witty writes so often? It's got to be entertaining inside you noggin! All the best ... CayCay

Hi CayCay...I was thinking about the civil war and the strange reality that we're still fighting the idea that some people are masters over others. It seems so strange to me in 2025, and yet here it is. Some people have a mammoth sense of entitlement and that sense can cause a lot of damage. Hope you are well and thanks so much for your comment. Much appreciated!!!

- He moves through life as a self-indulgent and unpleasant person...who knows he is always being watched...he enjoys his throne...arrogant and lacking in empathy - hugs

Anne-Lise, that about sums it all up. I do find it extremely painful to watch as do many. He's all about a class of the wealthiest people running things as he's pretty much surrounded by billionaires. When doling out tax breaks, inflation will eat up those that go to anyone below the top. Take care!!

Hi Anaya, I'm hoping a certain prison in El Salvador or on a Mars penal colony. This will not end well for us as freedom erodes, but we hope there's some reckoning that would dissuade others from behaving so badly. I would change my mind if he admitted he's been wrong and honestly worked with a psychiatrist as a committed mental patient. I'm not thinking it's likely I'm going to change my mind! He's had a lifelong illness.

You're very kind suggesting a book. I might want to at some point, but it would take away from everyday life. BTW, you're absolutely right and he should not be on any throne but a toilet in a jail cell. Some of us realize we're all basically the same, yet there are some who are threatened for some reason. They can't take responsibility for their own lack of success and need someone to blame for it.

Lol not sure why the opening line made me laugh so loud hahah! Gosh! Such racism, just shows how shallow this king is! I wish this king some healing as his heart seems blacker than the darkest midnight! Pleasure reading this fun limerick! Sadly this is the truth we see in so many places too: sending you light always !

IE, very kind of you to make this comment. You would do a much better job as our president if we could elect you! We all would be astounded if he would admit he has an emotional problem and see a psychiatrist, but that seems unlikely. Sadly, he will have an unfulfilling and sterile life despite all appearances as you and I know.

Well, since he's not too bright... maybe the Muskrat will make him a deal he can't refuse on a Space X rocket. He wants to take over anyway.

Lin good point. Let's hope the whole party gets onboard and ends up all together on Mars. We could do so well without this chaos and racism. I might suggest making Mars tax free so the richest people should all go there too. They can have it! Hope they like it, although as I've said what will happen to their yachts. How will they impress each other?

One of the means he's using to hold his support together involves the backing of white supremacists and disenchanted men. This is just one part of his coalition and possibly the most dedicated part. He's in denial of the reality that there's great diversity on this planet we should elevate and celebrate. We'll just have to wait and see what happens.
