A Continuation of ‘on the Vanity of Earthly Greatness'

The Bengal is dead, a corpse in the ground, The do-do bird is without sound. The tribes of Indians, won’t see another day, The ash from the volcano, has long been blown away. We have seen the death, of the giant squid, And many evils stole, the paintings of Madrid. Why is it that we must destroy? Maybe someday, morals we will employ.
