A Closer Look
I feel sorry for her, that girl
who looks at me,
with such sadness in her eyes
I feel sorry for her, that girl
who looks so desperate,
for a hug or a smile
I feel sorry for her, that girl
who sees the good in everyone
apart from herself
I feel sorry for her, that girl
who is so lost
and trying to reach for help
I feel sorry for her, that girl
who can solve others problems
but never her own
I feel so sorry for her, that girl
Looking back at me,
from the mirror.
