A Christmas Memory

A Christmas Memory


I do recall, from many years ago, that sweet first Christmas day

at our first home on the Marine Corps base, so very far away.

As newlyweds so proud and pleased with our dear Christmas tree 'premiere',

not knowing then we'd decorate our fifty-seventh one this year.

Yes, my hubby was in the Marines and our first child, a son was born there the next year. However, that son and his wife (West Point Grads) retired as Colonels four years ago, and their daughter (our granddaughter) graduated WP in 2013, and she and her husband, also a grad, are now stationed at Ft. Bragg, VA. So we are all Army now, and have been for quite a while! We went to bases in Germany and many other places to visit them and the grandkids in earlier years. Thanks so much for your visit!
