A Childhood Memory

I sat upon a stair and saw a little man; he smiled, but oozed despair. A sad and lonely guy. I didn't like to stare. I waited for my gran, and hugged my teddy bear. He said it wasn't fair; it didn't go to plan... and then he wasn't there... A sad and lonely guy. A childhood memory, written 13th Feb for Constance's roundel contest

I really like this Roundel poem, have to try it sometime - your sad and lonely guy was only in your minds eye somewhere, but somewhere, sometime you probably had seen him. Delightfully penned. Poetry hugs, Jennifer.

You tackled this form with an able pen and a creative streak, Jack. The image of that sad, lonely man will be hard to erase from a child's mind. Regards // paul

I get the feeling that this sad and lonely guy might be up to something that he shouldn't be and probably was good that he was gone. Thanks for all the visits to my page. Sara
