A Change On the Horizon

Why does it feel that a change is coming
I can hear a silent humming
People aren't seemingly aware
Around the world there's mass panic
A global pandemic
Which is of huge proportion
It hit so many of us close to home
It's affecting everything we do
The way we live
The way we work
The way we play
Confined to your home 
by our national government
It is something most us
Has come to know
Joblessness is growing
Is this ever going to end
Everytime you switch on the news it's sad
I switch it back off again
A never ending story of tragedy
Wearing a mask has become part of life
Authorities says is to protect each other
It is humankind most dangerous enemy
An invisible enemy
It dictates even our way of life
Era of change is also knocking on the door
I'm not sure if I'm ready to deal with more
Will the smart people at the labs please hurry
Because we are tired of COVID19
Looks like change is on the horizon

They say that even with the vaccine life will not go back to what was our normal, but the new normal is living with the disease, perhaps taking the vaccine yearly like the flu shot!
