A Board Not For Surfing

My sister Lucille was extremely bored She tried surfing on an ironing board Knobby knees spread wide, She damned nearly died One imagined whitecap and she was floored.

Thanks, Andrea. I had fun with this limerick and the Lucille limericks that she inspired.

Congratulations, Milt. I think you and Tom read the future rather well there. ;-)

Thank you, Terry. I'm not sure I've read Tom's take on the surfing grandma, but I will. I'm guessing we both took the approach in the limerick?

One limerick entries were not awarded 1st place. I wish the sponsor had stated that more than one was acceptable. It was listed as "a limerick." and so it goes.

Jenna, I had not even noticed that. You are very sharp-eyed. If I had known that was what was expected, I would have written several in sequence. Actually, she sort of inspired my Lucille limericks, so I had plenty of material. Yes, sponsors should be more clear in their directions.

She may be so crippled up and traumatized by her arrest that she may be incapable of any more adventures...at least for a while. Thanks, Terry.

LOLOL this is wonderful Milton! I suck at Limericks :( They always come out a bit dark (insert contemplative emoji here)

Thanks so much, FJ, for your thoughts. I find the rhythm is the most difficult thing for me. One thing for certain, they are not that easy!

I think your Lucille and my Ice Cream Gran should form a crime fighting duo… that's if Lucille can stay on her feet. Ha ha!

I think that's a splendid idea, but Lucille is pretty independent. And, you are correct, she has a terrible time staying on her feet and her balance isn't so great either.

I have to give Lucille credit for her tenacity and courage. I'll not venture into the ocean... too many sharks! Great entry, Milt. Your limericks are giving life to Lucille!

I'm having fun with her. I may even write some more if the mood strikes. Lucille makes a great character.

Poor Lucille Milton, give her a break, before she succumbs. lol Levitating first and now on the Ironing board. I'm looking forward to her next attempt at something challenging. I hope she survives for the next one... Made me smile... Thanks lol...

Me, too, Shirley. I think I am inspired to write more adventures of Lucille. Maybe.
