A Bland Question

Every eve, you ask me How was your day? As if you care, as if you know As if you have something to say Every eve, I answer too It was fine, nothing new As if I mean it, as if I feel it As if I really have nothing to do Every eve, we repeat this A ritual, a habit, a routine As if we are happy, as if we are close As if we are living a dream But we are not, we are not We are hollow, we are empty We are strangers, we are robots We are nothing but a parody You don't see me, you don't hear me You don't know me, you don't love me You don't ask me, you don't tell

Such a sad one. Perhaps the question needs to change to bring back that something between the two who were brought together at one time.

Sigh. So many relationships become stale, routine, mundane. The fire dims, the room grows cold. Nicely written Jaymee
