A Birthday Wish For Will

On William Shakespeare's special day
I would this much like to pray

That future generations find a way
To fill a part of their school days
Midst the wonder of his plays

You'll not understand every word he wrote - OK
But a precious line or two make sure to file away
~ To revisit down the road, on a rainy day

Hi Gershon, Shakespeare, a role model for a great many poets. Whilst on a visit to England (we toured England down country roads and through villages), visited Stratford on Avon and Anne Hathaway's Cottage where Shakespeare stayed - Tom said it was a pity we didn't know each other then, as we could have met his family and he the two of us. Wonderful write my friend. Blessngs, Jennifer.

Well, next time you go, you'll have to make up that 'rain check' Tom's given you! ~ Gershon

He used to live about 25 mins from me. They flock from all over the world to see his house in Stratford on Avon, a lovely town. Tom

'Let not the marriage of true minds admit impediments' - I asked our minister to recite this at our wedding (and yes, I know all of it!) Did you know there were various plagues that he lived through? (I just read an article about that)

Whoa! Roll over, Beethoven... Didn't know that Will suffered so... As for remembering lines from Shakespeare, I used to insist that my high school students memorize certain passages, long after that was accepted practice. I always go blowback at first, but they came to take pride in doing it, they gained confidence, and they even enjoyed it. And decades later, they could still recite those lines. Thanks for sharing, Michelle! :) gw

Wow! Great recall of a 'Shakespeare-licious special!' Thanks for sharing a nice memory. Joy and Light, Gershon
