A Bird's Quest
A birds quest
Mother bird set out on a quest
Looking for wisps to build its nest
Up in the North, east and the west
Undeterred flew in raging tempest
Doggedly in pursuit of the best
Persevered at its hearts behest
To pick those evoking interest
For days love's labour knew no rest
Its tiny beaks were put to test
Long hours of sweat, this was no jest
And when it was time for harvest
The brown eggs were laid in earnest
Tenderly hatched with zeal and zest
Snugly housed in warmth manifest
Nestled with pride li'l fledgings fondest
Would grow wings to win life's conquests...
