A Better Fate

Unrequited love haunts both fantasies and dreams. And you are left struggling to stifle silent screams. All hearts crave affection: denied, they die inside. And like a puppeteer, lust manipulates pride. Fate warps reality: until love drifts off course. And salvageable dreams, are scuttled by remorse. Life's explanations fail, expectations of youth. And behind hidden tears, lies the elusive truth. You feel inadequate; unsure if you can cope. For life is rife with fears that can overwhelm Hope. Stung by rejection, love tends to morph into hate. But, in time, you'll forget and choose a better fate.

Another poem filled with wise words -- only a well seasoned traveler of love know of these dangers . . . "in time" I like, for within these words . . . is holds hope . . . a better fate, a better life, a better love . . . the ability to chase the light. Nicely done dear friend. 7
