A Bear's Tale
My parents taught me a few Bible Scriptures
when I was just a little teddy. I never understood
them until I became an adult and found them
useful in my maturity and also in helping
others. Take for example the one that
says, "Weeping endures for the night
but joy comes in the morning"*. Or the
one that speaks of seed time and harvest. **
Anyway, I know what's coming and prepare.
I eat plenty of food for winter stays.
It's nature's way with me, and
They call it hibernation. I don't
mind, but simply take advantage of the
much-needed rest and dismiss all the rest.
When Spring burst forth, I'm hungry and
ready to feast on what nature provides.
Nature. She is good to me, and I'm grateful.
Why me and not the deer? I'm just a big bear,
but it's nice to know that God cares for me too.
During the other seasons when I meet and make
acquaintances with others of the wilds, I do my
best to encourage them that Spring always follows
the harshest winter, bringing life, fresh food, and beauty.
Most times, they look at me and smile, wishing they were me.

and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and
night will never cease.” NIV Genesis 8:22
